You can make these lovely quilt blocks in two sizes: 6 inches and 12 inches. For this one, start with the smaller 6-inch Grandma’s Star block.

If you’d like to make a 6-inch version too, here’s how to cut your fabric

Here’s some details… For more informations you need access the Lori’s blog, we will show you in the button bellow

Background fabric

  • Cut 8 pieces – 1 1/4″ x 2″
  • Cut 24 squares – 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″

Fabric One

  • Cut 8 squares – 2″ x 2″
  • Cut 8 squares – 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″

Fabric Two

  • Cut 24 squares – 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″

Optional: If you’d like to add corners to your block, cut 4 squares, each 2″ x 2″.

Now you’re ready to start piecing your block!

P.S. This block has lots of little pieces (which makes it extra fun to sew!)  When that happens, I like to press my seams open to help everything lay nice and flat.
