Crochet Coin Purse Pattern

Base and Body

Foundation Chain: Start by making a Chain 21.

Round 1: Single crochet (sc) into the second chain from your hook, then continue making one sc in each chain until you reach the end. When you get to the last chain, put 3 single crochets in that same chain to help turn the corner. Now, crochet along the other side of the chain, placing one sc in each stitch. In the first chain where you started, make 2 sc. Join this round by making a slip stitch (sl st) into the first sc.

Rounds 2-15: Chain 1, then make one sc in each stitch all the way around. When you reach the end of each round, join with a slip stitch to the first sc. To make stripes, change colors every few rounds as you go!

Top Edge:

Rounds 16-20: Chain 1, then make one single crochet (sc) in each stitch all the way around. When you finish each round, join with a slip stitch (sl st) into the first sc. Keep going until the height of your purse matches the height of the clasp frame. Once you’re done, finish off by cutting the yarn and weaving in the loose ends.
