Round 4: Chain 2, work *2 dc in the first stitch, 1 dc in the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the beginning dc. (40 dc)

Rounds 5-8: Chain 2, work 1 dc in each dc around. Join with a slip stitch to the beginning dc. If you want to continue to the brim of the hat, do not fasten off. (40 dc)
