Below are some written instructions and a crochet chart so you can make your own crochet Easter bunnies this Easter!

Materials needed:

• Yarn in bunny colors
• White yarn – Use this for the bunny tails.
• Crochet hook – Select a size suitable for the yarn you’ve chosen.
• Scissors
• Needle

Crochet Bunny Coaster – INSTRUCTIONS

Start: Make a loop with 4 chain stitches, then join with a slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring.

Round 1: Chain 3, then make 16 half double crochet stitches into the ring. Close the round with a slip stitch in the third chain.

Round 2: Chain 3, then work 1 half double crochet and 1 double crochet into the third chain from the previous round. Next, work 1 double crochet and 1 half double crochet into the first half double crochet of the previous round.

Bunny Ears: Chain 7, then starting from the third chain from the hook, work 1 half double crochet, 2 double crochet, 1 half double crochet, and 1 single crochet. Repeat to make another ear.

Finish: Slip stitch into the first half double crochet of Round 1 to close.

Hide yarn ends inside the bunny and trim excess yarn.

Optional:

Bunny tails: Make mini pom-poms for bunny tails and tie them to the bunnies using a square knot.

Dimensions: The item’s size is approximately: Width = 5 centimeters (2 inches) and Length = 10 centimeters (4 inches).

CROCHET GAUGE:

A width of 22 single crochets and a height of 22 rows measure 10 x 10 cm or 4” x 4”.

 

The Easter Bunny piece is created by starting from the middle and working outwards without cutting the yarn. After completion, to ensure the bunny hangs nicely, it can be stiffened by dipping it in sugared water or colorless fizzy drink and then laid flat to dry.

Making the Easter Bunny:

To make the Easter Bunny, you’ll need a crochet hook size 3 mm (also known as US size C). Follow the instructions in Diagram, starting from the symbol in the middle. Begin by making 5 chain stitches and join them to form a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Then, keep following the diagram until you finish. Remember to check your crochet gauge as you go along.

Once you’ve completed the diagram, cut the yarn and pull it through. If you want your Easter Bunny to be a bit stiff, you can follow the instructions for stiffening provided above.
