Round 2: Introduce a new color by connecting it to any stitch, chain 1 (considered as the initial slip stitch). *Chain 2, skip one stitch, slip stitch in the next stitch.* Repeat this pattern until you reach the end of the round. Do NOT cut off the yarn. (Resulting in 6 slip stitches and 6 chain-2 spaces)

Round 3: *Slip stitch in the next space, chain 2, work 4 double crochet stitches, chain 2, slip stitch in the same space.* Repeat this sequence from * to * five more times. (This creates 6 petals.) Do NOT fasten off.

Round 4: Begin working on the rear side of the flower. Ensure the right side is facing you. Create a lengthy chain, then work back post single crochets (bpsc) around the corresponding slip stitch of the previous round. Repeat the sequence chain 3, back post single crochet in the next slip stitch until you reach the end of the row. Join the round with a slip stitch, fasten off, and neatly weave in the ends. This will result in the following appearance on the back side of the flower:

Look at the six chains forming a hexagon. This is where we’ll start working to give our flower a hexagonal shape.

Round 5: Transition to a different color. Orient the right side facing you, and gently fold a portion of your petal to access the chain spaces from round 4 (refer to the accompanying image). Proceed as follows: In each 3-chain space, *work 5 double crochet stitches, chain 2.* Repeat the * to * sequence five additional times, and then slip stitch to the first double crochet to complete the round. Do not cut the yarn. This round results in 30 double crochet stitches and 6 chain-2 spaces.
