STITCH ABBREVIATIONS (US TERMS)

  • ch: Chain
  • fl: Front Loop (r
  • hdc: Half Double Crochet
  • sc: Single Crochet
  • sl st: Slip Stitch
  • st: Stitch

Special Stitches

Back Loop: In regular crochet, stitches form a distinct pattern on the side. Instead of putting the crochet hook through the whole pattern, focus on inserting it only under the back loop (the loop farthest from you).

Front Loop: For this stitch, insert the crochet hook solely under the front loop of the pattern (the loop closest to you). This technique gives a unique texture to your crochet work.

PATTERN NOTES:

In the pattern, when you see brackets like [2 single crochet in the next stitch, single crochet in the next stitch] 6 times, it means you’ll repeat the instructions within the brackets a total of 6 times. So, follow these steps: perform 2 single crochets in the next stitch, then do 1 single crochet in the stitch after that. Repeat this sequence a total of 6 times.

To clarify, the overall instruction is to do 2 single crochets in the next stitch and 1 single crochet in the following stitch, and you’ll repeat this set of actions six times in total.

Hello, I am rather new to baskets, had trouble following your instructions on your main site, (4-8) because it was not written out, went to the video which did clarify a few items in detail, but Pamela is not following the same pattern that you provided this is a different pattern. Your pdf did explain a bit better and I could complete. Thank you.
