PATTERN

Follow these steps to create the pattern:

Row 1:

  1. Skip the first 3 chain stitches (these will count as the first double crochet).
  2. Work 1 double crochet in the 4th chain stitch from your hook.
  3. Continue working 1 double crochet in each chain stitch across the foundation.
  4. Turn your work.

Row 2:

  1. Chain 1 (this will serve as the turning chain).
  2. Work 1 single crochet in the same stitch as the turning chain.
  3. Work 1 single crochet in each stitch across the row.
  4. Turn your work.

Row 3:

  1. Switch to Colour B for this row.
  2. Chain 2 (this will count as the first double crochet of the cluster stitch).
  3. Work 1 cluster stitch in the same stitch where the chain-2 was made.
  4. *Chain 2, skip the next 5 stitches, then work (1 cluster stitch, chain 2, 1 cluster stitch) in the next stitch. Repeat this pattern from * across the row.
  5. Chain 2, skip the next 5 stitches, and work 1 cluster stitch in the last stitch.
  6. Turn your work.

Row 4:

  1. Switch back to Colour A.
  2. Chain 1 (this will serve as the turning chain).
  3. Work 1 single crochet in the same stitch as the turning chain.
  4. Chain 1, and for the next steps, follow this pattern:
    • Work 1 half double crochet in each of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th skipped stitches from the previous row. These skipped stitches are located around the ‘chain 2’ spaces.
    • Chain 2, skip the cluster stitch, and work 1 single crochet in the next ‘chain 2’ space.
    • Chain 2, skip the cluster stitch, and repeat the pattern across the row.
  5. Finish the row by working 1 half double crochet in each of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th skipped stitches from the previous row.
  6. Work 1 single crochet in the cluster stitch.
  7. Turn your work.

Row 5:

  1. Chain 2 (this will count as the first double crochet).
  2. Work 1 double crochet in the next ‘chain 1’ space.
  3. Follow this pattern for the rest of the row:
    • Work 1 double crochet in each of the next 3 stitches.
    • Work 1 double crochet in the ‘chain 2’ space, followed by 1 double crochet in the next stitch, and 1 double crochet in the next ‘chain 2’ space.
  4. Repeat this pattern across the row.
  5. Finish the row by working 1 double crochet in each of the next 3 stitches, then 1 double crochet in the ‘chain 1’ space.
  6. Turn your work.

REPEAT Continue repeating Rows 2 through 5 until you achieve your desired length for the project.
