Color A (brown)

You should end up with a total of 18 double crochets.

Abbreviated version:

Rnd 1 – Color A. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), work 17 dc into the foundation ring. Join with a slip stitch at the top of ch 3. Total: 18 dc.

ROUND 2

Round 2 – Using Color A, begin with a chain of 3 (which counts as 1 double crochet). Double crochet in the same space as the chain-3, and then create 2 double crochets in each stitch from the previous round. Complete the round by joining with a slip stitch on top of the initial chain-3, chain 1, and fasten off.

Ensure that you have a total of 36 double crochet stitches in the second round.
